At Balance Chaos, we offer the GI MAP test along with other gut health and bloodwork testing services to uncover what’s really driving your symptoms, whether it’s fatigue, inflammation, bloating, brain fog, or food sensitivities.

What is a GI-MAP?

The GI MAP test (Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus) is a functional stool test developed by Diagnostic Solutions Lab. It analyzes your gut microbiome to assess for dysbiosis, intestinal permeability, inflammation, and immune dysfunction. Essentially, it provides insight into your digestion, food cravings, and even mood regulation.

We use the GI MAP test results to create personalized nutrition plans that include targeted meal strategies, supplements, and therapeutic diets. This allows us to better support your metabolism, hormonal balance, and overall well-being.

Direct-Access Lab Testing Without the Insurance Hassle

Clients enrolled in our nutrition coaching can easily add on lab testing, including the GI MAP test, without going through insurance. While some lab tests are partially covered, others are not, and ordering through us can save time, money, and unnecessary back-and-forth with providers.

When is Testing Recommended?

We typically recommend the GI MAP test for clients experiencing persistent digestive issues, fatigue, cravings, or unexplained symptoms. Your dietitian will guide which labs are best for you based on your current symptoms, goals, and progress.

Please note: the GI MAP test is not a clinically validated diagnostic tool. This means that doctors cannot and will not use the results to diagnose, prescribe, or treat a condition. However, results from the GI-MAP can guide your dietitian’s plan and provide a useful foundation for further clinical testing.
